Let’s Refresh & Reset!
When you hear the words "refresh" and "reset," what comes to mind? I often hear someone say they are going to do a refresh or need to reset, but what does this really mean?
A refresh or reset can mean different things for everyone. In organizing, a refresh and reset can do wonders! Let's explore the various ways a refresh and reset can benefit you.
If you’re looking to refresh your space, spring cleaning is a great opportunity! When organizing, it’s beneficial to clear the area you plan to work on completely. Once the space is clear, take the time to clean it thoroughly. This might involve dusting or vacuuming, checking for expired items, and decluttering anything you no longer need.
After the area is cleaned, you can decide how to arrange it. You can either put everything back as it was or take this chance to group similar items together. This could also be the perfect moment to add organizing bins or a system to help maintain the area in the future.
To reset a space, you need to clean and reorganize that area intentionally. It's essential to incorporate this reset into your regular routine. Simple ways to reset a space include taking out the garbage, clearing away clutter, and putting belongings back in their designated places. I have specific areas I like to reset weekly. This doesn't mean the areas are organized weekly; instead, it means I do a little cleaning and put things where they belong.
Refreshing or resetting your home can offer numerous benefits for both your mental and physical well-being. These changes can enhance your mood, promote self-care, and increase your pride in yourself and your living space.
